Baseball is not for babies
Red Sox.
Wild Card.
Need I say more???
Apparently, I need to say more. You see, the game is baseball. We call it a game, but everyone knows it is really much more than that. It's serious business. It's competitive. It's cut-throat. It's life-changing. In some cases it turns the best of friends into enemies...yes, you read me right...it's that serious.
Let's say, for instance, that someone is a Red Sox fan. And this someone has a good friend who likes the Yankees (really, you have to consider what they were thinking, trying to be friends in the first place). Well...the two teams have always disliked each other, it goes back to the days of the great bambino...but still today, the unrest remains. Usually it's fairly easy for the two fans to get along; the Yankees tend to have a great season and the BoSox just barely miss the playoffs. During these past few years though, things have changed a bit for those Boston boys. Just last Friday when the Red Sox clinched the series with a home run in the 10th by David Ortiz, I was--I mean, the Red Sox fan was so excited that she called the Yankee fan-friend to share the excitement with him. Not a good move. He wasn't excited at all. He wasn't happy to hear the news from the Boston fan. He only took the time to remind the Boston fan how much he actually loathes her favorite team. What else are friends for?
Well, it looks as though this year will, in fact, divide friends. You may not think it's that serious...but this is baseball and it's October. It is that serious. The reason for this division begins tomorrow night. The Yankees and the Red Sox play in the american league championship series (ALCS). This is it. Only one team can advance to the World Series. Only one friend will be happy. Will the curse finally be broken? We'll see.
Let's just agree now that the winning team friend won't spend the rest of October rubbing it in.

Red Sox suck .. and you were a huge D-Backs fan 2 years ago .. What happened to that? Oh yeah, they are a loser team so .. wait .. here it comes .. it's slowing down .. jump on the Red Sox bandwagon .. you, Ben, and John Kerry .. great company .. and i am still the only one to comment on your blog ..
Jere has been a sox fan for at least 2 years so thats not a fair comment. I hope the Red Sox win just so she can rub it in. :-D They can do it, especially since this is their second try.
hey brad... guess what... the Sox may actually do it... and the Yankees, well that was the first time in their history to lose 2 extra inning post season games in a row... hahaha... Lets make that 3 games in a row during post season play that they lost
