Settling in...
Saturday at 10am I signed the paperwork and moved a few boxes into my new place...in Selma. It rained most of the day, so we decided to push back the rest of the moving-in until Sunday...which turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day. Everything was unloaded and my family was on their way home by about 2pm, leaving me the rest of the day to start unpacking and do a little bit of grocery shopping.
The details on the apartment are: 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, washer/dryer hookups, fireplace (woodburning!), attached garage, superclean complex, big backyard...and last night it was pretty quiet...so all looks to be good, so far!
I'm set on bedroom furniture, both bedrooms are furnished for the most part, but I've decided to NOT use my parents "hand-me-down" furniture for the living room (with the exception of the coffee table), and instead see about finding a cute little couch/loveseat set for myself. I feel like I need to start new...maybe some of you can relate.
In the meantime I'm sitting on big floor pillows (which I love and would use forever if I never planned on having guests over), and a really beautiful wooden rocking chair that my cousins in Chicago sent to me for college graduation. I also need a dining table and chairs...and a tv stand...and silverware...and dishes...and linens. Wow, now that I think about it, I need to buy a lot more than just furniture! Eh...all that money...maybe I'll just eat with my fingers, sleep on bare mattresses, and continue to enjoy the floor pillows until I have some spare change. :-)
