update since 11/16

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I'd love to hear about it, if you haven't shared the details with me already. :-)

  • Thanksgiving for me: I drove up to the lake on Wednesday and spent a few days with my family. The boyfriend came up for a few hours and to join us for dinner Thursday afternoon and had a chance to meet more of my family. I hope we didn't scare him too much. haha.
  • I saw the new James Bond movie "Casino Royale"...I liked it! I recommend it to any Bond fans who may read this. I know you may be skeptical about the new Bond...but he's really pretty good. Give him a chance. :-)
  • The boyfriend has leave starting December 14th and has invited me to go home to OR with him for a week or so. Yikes. It sounds like a fun trip, but a little scary too, the whole "meeting the family" thing! We are planning to leave on the 16th and be home in time for me to spend Christmas at the lake with my family. I plan to do most of my Christmas shopping there, since OR is a sales tax-free state. Woo-hoo! hehe.
  • Work is going well, but I'm thankful I only have three weeks left and then three weeks off! I could use a break. Thanksgiving was amazing and so relaxing...but THREE WEEKS will be so much nicer! haha. I have a lot on my plate right now with 6 classes, no prep period, foreign exchange club, and BTSA (a new teacher support program that requires hours and hours of paperwork and assignments). Things will only pick up as I start to look ahead to the possibility of going to Italy this spring!
  • The boyfriend leaves for Key West on January 2nd, so the 2nd-8th will be prime traveling and visiting time for me. If you're available (and don't live too far away) let me know and hopefully I can take a drive to see you!

Okay, that's it for now. I'm sure there's more...but will save it all and write again soon!

So after I wrote the message above, it started raining...and a few minutes later, this is what appeared. I was in the middle of 6th period and we were taking notes, but I couldn't help myself! It was so beautiful...I pulled out my cell phone and snapped this picture. :-) What a gift!

Veterans Day Weekend

Good morning!

Last weekend the boyfriend and I took advantage of the holiday and spent some time in Southern California. Friday on the way down we stopped at the Reagan Library and toured the exhibits for a few hours, then Saturday we spent half the day at Knotts Berry Farm before stopping by Ikea in Burbank and then heading home. The boyfriend just sent me a few pictures from the trip, so I thought I'd send them along to you.

The first few are from the Reagan Library...The Reagan Memorial site; Air Force One, the original plane that Nixon through Bush used, we were able to tour the inside--very neat!; a piece of the Berlin Wall; me standing next to a mural of President Reagan; the boyfriend standing next to a bronze statue of President Reagan; and finally a picture of the boyfriend and I in front of Knotts Berry Farm...yes, we are wearing matching shirts. His squadron is in the process of raising money for their Christmas banquet next month, and they were selling tshirts as part of a fundraiser...so he bought two--one for each of us. Cute, eh? haha. A very fun weekend!

so embarrassing...

So yesterday morning at about 5:15 am I filled out a survey on myspace. This was one of the questions:

Question 26: When was the last time you felt stupid?
My response: I haven't felt stupid this week...yet. But it's only Wednesday.

So...funny story.

I finally bought a new cell phone. The other one I had for at least 5 years...it was a good little phone...but it was still on the old network and my service was becoming a little too sporadic. Well, I didn't want to spend an hour transferring my phone numbers to my new phone...I just don't have that kinda time right now (and my old phone didn't have a SIM card...I know, it was ancient). So anyway. My TA (Jessica) didn't have anything to do during my class, and she has the same phone as me so she offered to switch them for me.

Well, while I was lecturing, Jess was entering the numbers and all of a sudden she interrupts me and says "Miss C! I promise I didn't read it!" and hands the phone to me. I had a text message from my boyfriend. I read it really quick and handed the phone back to Jess. Well the rest of my class was obviously curious (nosey) and one student asked who it was from.

Me, wanting to be a little funny, shot back at the student "None of your-" Now, usually the word 'business' would follow the beginning of that phrase. But apparently I had other things on my mind...lol. Because instead of 'business'...I said "None of your boyfriend!"

haha. Everyone laughed...

I felt so stupid. lol.

I TOLD you it was 'only Wednesday'...there was still plenty of time left for me to do something to embarrass myself.
