just a little news

Wow, can you believe that tomorrow is the last day of November already? Thanksgiving is gone and Christmas is just around the corner...only 25 shopping days left! :-) Yippee!

Things are going well. The kids and I bought our plane tickets for Italy, so the trip is official. I will be traveling with ten students this year...as the only chaperone. Ah! Honestly though, I am thankful for the students that I chose...I don't think I'll have any worries with them in country, and I can already tell that they will be a lot of fun to "parent" for 2 1/2 weeks. :-) Six of them are in leadership and the other four are just all-around great kids. March can't come soon enough!

Okay it's late. I will write more again soon. Hope you all are well!

sad :-(

As of last Friday I had two girls who were pregnant in my classes.

Now I have only one.

I wouldn't have realized so soon except that I gave my kids a test today and on their test I asked them to tell me one good thing that happened to them this week. And she wrote "Well, I'm out of the hospital"... It concerned me that one of my students had been in the hospital, so I called her over and asked her if everything was okay...and she explained. She had a doctor's appointment late last week and they found out her baby was going to be a stillbirth (she was only four months pregnant). So they admitted her to the hospital and induced labor this weekend. She is back in school today.

It's so sad. I thought she was going to cry and I wanted to give her a hug when she was sharing that with me... I can't imagine what she went through and is still going through...but she is handling it very well, keeping herself together. I know that this is a part of God's plan for her, but even knowing that I don't think that I could be back at work two days after that experience. She is such a strong little girl. Think you guys could pray for her?

That's it for now...back to work.

Friday, November 2

I painted my nails last night. Fingernails. I think they look cute. It's fun to be girlie sometimes. I mean, I get pedicures on a regular basis, but it's winter so no one can see my cute toes. lol. Oh, and I wore my hair curly today instead of blow-drying it straight. I needed a change and it's Friday, so I just feel like it's a curly painted-fingernail day. hehe.

I'm excited for lunch today. J called me last night and said that he and D are going to lunch today...and they want me to come too. Yippee! Finally a day off campus for lunch. I think we're going to S-way. And I have a coupon for S-way, a buy one-get one free, so I hope we go there! Plus, it's a better option than fast food...though, I have been craving some McD's french fries!! Yum!

I'm not really sure what my plans are this weekend. Tonight is the big rivalry game between S-town and R-town. WOOOOOO-hooo!! J-rod said he might come with me. Whatever. Even if he doesn't there will be a big group of teachers there, so that will be fun. :-) I heard that K-town and the other S-town have their rival game tonight too...some of the older folks at the gym this morning were talking about it. Anyway tomorrow I plan to sleep in and then spend the afternoon grading and watching football. Then Sunday is church with A, then lunch (finally!) afterwards. Oh! And the biggest football game of the year is on this Sunday...the Patriots and the Colts. Hope my Pats win!! Should be exciting!!

I can't believe it's November. Time to start thinking about what to get M for Christmas! Anyone have any ideas....?
