you gotta read this...
I've spent three weekdays (well, two and a half) on vacation so far.
Friday I was in the Bay Area with my friend Jewely...what a fun adventure that was. We left S-town with the intention of being home by 6 or so...but we actually didn't make it home until 9pm. Yikes! Still, lots of shopping and really a good time hanging out.
Mark left yesterday. :-( He will be gone for 27 days total. He's on an aircraft carrier right now, just cruisin around in the ocean. Well, not really cruisin, but you know what I mean. 27 days. And right as my vacation was starting! Bummer! But at least it's not 6 months...yet! I will try to find things to keep me busy...
Yesterday I hung out with my dad. Mom left us a grocery list so we ran up to the store in the afternoon. There were several items from the produce aisle on the list so we strolled back and forth through there for a bit. Picked up some peaches...walked by the grapes (dad ate two)....found the nectarines...walked back by the grapes (dad ate a few more)...chose a nice bunch of bananas....walked by the cherries (dad grabbed one and ate it). I finally couldn't handle it anymore so I told him STOP EATING THE FRUIT!! haha. Dad tried to convince me that the reason they leave the bags open is so that you can taste them. No. If that were the case people would be taking bites out of peaches and pears and plums and apricots and putting them back on the shelf if the fruit wasn't acceptable. You'd have half-eaten fruit just laying around on the stands. He just laughed. My dad is a goofball. :-)
Last night I had dinner at Red Robin for my birthday...Ashley's great for putting that together! After dinner we went shopping and drove back to my place to hang out for a bit. Katie drove down from Fresno and my friend Jerrod came downstairs to hang out with us too. Lots of laughs. :-)
So this morning Jerrod and I were off and running at 10am. Not LITERALLY running. Just out and about. We drove down to H-town to do a little shopping...ate at Panera Bread for lunch (yummy!)...and then came back to S-town to stop at the grocery store before heading home.
I should mention that I had two near-death experiences today. First, I backed out of my parking spot at Target, right into another car. No damage to either car (thank God!) but I was a little shook up. Then, at Panera Bread, Jerrod made me laugh and the next thing you know I am choking on a little tiny bite of my sandwich. Ugh. I've never actually choked on anything before...what a scary experience. But I made it out alive... :-)
Okay, off to watch a couple of movies. Pedicure tomorrow. Yay!
