Tuesday
morning...
--had my broken car stereo replaced; I decided to stay at Toyota while they did the work (which I rarely do) and ended up having the most interesting conversation with a retired teacher from Louisiana. His name was Clarence and he kept me talking for over an hour, telling me stories of his travels, his life in the "deep South", and a few fun stories about his teaching experiences in Oakland. :-)
--came home and worked on lesson plans (yippee!!)
afternoon.....
--listened to the pitter-patter (okay stomping would be more accurate) of little feet in the apartment above me. J-rod's neices were over for lunch with him. It's funny, when my old neighbor was upstairs, his son used to run back and forth and back and forth and back and...you get the idea...and it used to irritate me like nothing else. For some reason, it only made me smile to hear J-rod's neices running around. :-) Mainly because I think he was PAYING them to make that much noise...it's just something he'd do to be funny. haha. What a great friend!
--baked chocolate chip cookies around 3. I was going to share them with J-rod's girls upstairs...but they left as the first tray was coming out of the oven. So I gave half of them to J-rod instead. :-)
--went to the gym about 430...because I had just ate TWO chocolate chip cookies (how could I resist? they were warm and soft and straight from the oven!!)
evening.....
--dinner around 630. J-rod hadn't eaten and my sis wasn't home to eat with me...so J-rod and I went up to the little-gas-station-converted-into-a-Mexican-food-restaurant on the corner. It was yummy!
--Thrifty ice cream at 7:30. good thing I went to the gym... lol
--movie upstairs at 8:00...have you ever seen Slingblade? I hadn't until last night. Such an interesting movie. Not family friendly. It's a drama...and it makes you think. Very predictable though...and sad.
