Happy Superbowl Sunday!

Just a quick update...

I'm still living in the house, though we've already moved most of my furniture and boxes out, including my bed. So, after sleeping on the floor for two nights, I finally called a friend and borrowed his air mattress last night. Let me tell you it was like sleeping on feathers, compared to the hard, cold floor. I am greatly indebted to him.

As advisor of the student council at work, I'm in charge of putting together the school dances. We had our first one last Friday night. Junior high dances are so cute! The student council and I spent the afternoon hanging decorations, forming giant hearts on the walls with white twinkle lights, and blowing up balloons. We have a small school, with about 120 7th and 8th grade students, so it didn't surprise me that there were only about 15 boys there, and 40 or so girls... The dj kept the music VERY clean, and even played fun songs like "the twist" and "the hokey pokey". The kids were totally into it! Kristin, you'll have to remind me--did we have those songs at our junior high dances?? Likely not... There were five slow songs--one every 30 minutes--and the boys really stepped up and surprised me by asking the girls to dance. I'm so proud of them, and I told them that... :-)

Today's the superbowl. I'm not going to make any predictions, but I am going to tell you that I hope the Seahawks win. That won't make my friend Chaz very happy...but I think (I hope!) there's more to our friendship than that. haha.

I have my new address and will be sending it out in an email soon...

Ciao for now!

Quick pic--we celebrated my cousin's birthday after the game yesterday--she's 19, and as you can see, VERY mature for her age. ;-) Love ya Whit! hehe.

OK - so before I noticed my name in this post - I was TOTALLY thinking about our Junior High dances. Good ole Computech Junior High. Why did we go to those dances anyway? I certainly only remember guys asking women to date on rare occasion - UNLESS they were already "going around" with someone. TOO FUNNY. Boy - stories (and fond memories) like these really date us!!!

I went to the dances in junior high and high school hoping that cute boys like Geoffe would ask me to dance...but alas, no one ever did. Ah well. I wouldn't have said yes anyway, I was too shy! Go figure... Isn't it fun thinking back to junior high and reliving all the silly things we did?

did they win? I'm thinking I saw on the news otherwise this morning but I was working out and not paying much attention. I did go to a super bowl party but I stayed upstairs (near the food) and chatted. I did catch a few commercials but saw zero football.

No...the Seahawks didn't win. Such a bummer! Joe Broussard (the FCA guy for this region and a former pastor at EVFree) was at church yesterday and told us that Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander (both of the Seahawks) are both very outspoken believers--I knew about Alexander, but not Hasselbeck, so neat! Would have been great to see them win...but they have time still. And I'm glad Bettis was able to retire on such a high note...good for him. :-)
